We started by putting hammering U-shaped nails 6" apart onto 8 - 8' 2x4s

For each set of stretched rope, boards were secured high and low. Each strand of rope was threaded separately..

...and interwoven between the strands of the opposite set. 8' boards were painted black.

The ropes were enhanced by gelled lighting cans. LED-lit backstage walls were already covered in weedcloth...
